Coronary Heart Disease, Hypertension and Exercise Coronary Heart Disease, Hypertension and Exercise

There have been many studies performed which prove a direct link between regular exercise and a healthy heart. Most types of exercises that will make demands on the cardiovascular system otherwise known as aerobic exercises will tend to increase the strength of the heart and lower the more common risk factors associated with coronary heart disease. Find here the information associated with what exercise will do to avoid high blood pressure and coronary heart disease.

If your health concern is low blood pressure, hypotension, then you will find helpful information here. The treatment for low blood pressure is not the same as for high blood pressure.

What exercise will do for the body:

  • assists in keeping the heart healthy
  • lowers the levels of fat in the blood
  • discourages the formation of clots or thrombosis
  • assists keeping our body weight stable
  • releases tension
  • releases endorphins into the blood stream that give us a feeling of well being
  • reducing blood pressure

We tend to view exercise with a cautioned eye. We often make excuses when in reality we can't be bothered.

It is a effort sometimes to get up and get ready to go to the gym or for a long walk or even swimming or cycling, especially if we have had a hard day at work. But that is when we need it the worse. Once the effort is made, it's surprising how those feelings of exhaustion can disappear as those good feeling factors kick in.

The best approach when first starting an exercise profile is to take it easy. If you are grossly unfit, trying to take on a workout which is more fitted to someone of better fitness levels is just asking for trouble.

And for goodness sake don't take up a high energy sport such as squash or racquet ball. Injury could result and if you are grossly unfit, you could make your blood pressure rise to an alarming level and be on the brink on a heart attack or stroke.

Ideally aim for about three 20 to 30 minute sessions every week. Think about going for a few brisk walks, or get your cycle and start riding which is an excellent form of exercise.

Consider taking up horse riding, if you want to start a new exercise that is fun as well as healthy. Not only get fit, you'll learn a whole new skill in the process.

Older people take up horse riding and find caring for their horse, cleaning out the stable and learning to ride not only helps them to become fit, it also assists in lowering their stress levels which in turns helps to lower their blood pressure and hold off heart disease.
